He is survived by: his wife Santa Castañeda of Del Rio; his sons, Jec Castañeda (Gloria), Bubba Castañeda (Kristina) and Jon Castañeda; his sisters, Gloria Zuniga (Joe David) of Del Rio and Belinda Longo of San Antonio; and his grandchildren, Jecette Castañeda, Taylor Gomez, Emmie Liess Castañeda, Jecleen Castañeda, Briana Fuentes Castañeda, Jack Johnson, Brielle Elise Castañeda and Judah Elic Castañeda.
