It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elida Gonzalez Cortez (Del Rio, Texas), who passed away on April 24, 2020, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Simon Gonzalez and Petra Gonzalez; her husband Concepcion Cortez; and her siblings, Hilario Gonzalez, Guadalupe Martinez, Aurora Garza, Simon Gonzalez Jr. and Estela Maldonado.

She is survived by: her stepsiblings, Elia Hinojosa, Simon Gonzalez, David Gonzalez and Patricia Gonzalez; her daughter-in-law Josefina Cortez; her children, Lionel Cortez of Houston Texas, Dalia (Fred Knoll) and Ricardo Cortez (Christy); her stepsiblings, Jesse Gonzalez, Carmen Galindo, Gloria Barrows, Ana Maria Gonzalez, Rebekah Hernandez and Rosalinda Reyna; her grandchildren, Fred Knoll Jr., Lisa Jensen, Ricardo Cortez Jr., Nadya Cortez, Brianna Cortez and Bianca Cortez; her great grandchildren, Derrick Allen Knoll, Ella Jensen, Hunter Jensen and Jackson Knoll; her stepgrandchildren, Steven Lowrance, Jr. and Dillon Wilson; her great great grandchild Arabella Lenae Knoll; and her stepgrandsons, Trevor Reyes and Llewelyn Lowrance. She is also survived by 15 siblings and step-siblings.
