He was predeceased by: his parents, Archer Gordon Sawtelle and Violet Almira Sawtelle; his son David Lyle Sawtelle; his siblings, Lyle Sawtelle and Barbara Gammon (Bob Gammon); and his son-in-law Hector Segura.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Ann Sawtelle; his children, Paul Anthony Sawtelle, Michael Alan Sawtelle (Suzan) and Cynthia Sawtelle; his daughter-in-law Raquel Sawtelle; his sister Jackie Plumb (Alan); his grandchildren, Tannie Davidson (Marc Davidson), Cassandra Bomboy (Justin Bomboy), Phillip Rincon and Gabriella Woolsey (Logan Woolsey); and his great grandchild Heidi Bomboy. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 21st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Christian Church (2101 N Main St, Del Rio, TX 78840). A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to charities supporting veterans, children, diabetes research, or animal welfare, in memory of Alva's dedication to these causes.
