He was predeceased by: his parents, Aurelio Ramirez and Florinda Ramirez; his brother Alfonso; his sister-in-law Irene Ramirez; his brother Arturo; his sister-in-law Estela Ramirez; his sister Angelica Zuniga; and his siblings-in-law, Maria Concepcion Ramirez and Ricardo Hernandez.

He is survived by: his wife Ana Maria Cuellar Ramirez; his children, Ana Belia R. Dominguez (Roberto), Abelardo Ramirez, Jr. (Kendra) and Adriana R. Venegas (Jose Luis); his grandchildren, Clarissa Venegas, Jose Luis Venegas, Jr., Yalina Venegas, Marcos Venegas, Erikka Alter (Nico), Kristie Land, Karson Land and Ana Maria Ramirez; his siblings, Aurelio Ramirez, Jr., Alberto Ramirez (Diana) and Alicia Hernandez; and his brother-in-law Frank Zuniga.
