He was predeceased by: his parents, Woodrow Phelps and Maxine Bearden Phelps; his son Michael Phelps; and his sister Billie Jepsen. He is survived by: his wife Ernestine Phelps of DeKalb, Texas; his son Tony Phelps (Tristina) of O'Fallon, Missouri; his grandsons, Zach and Cody Phelps; and his siblings, John Phelps (Rebecca) of Orange, Gordon Phelps of Lubbock, Linda Applegarth of Luther, Barbara Mullen (Ron) of Lawton and Jonie Hebert (Jimmy) of McAllister. He is also survived by nieces and nephews and other family members.
