Though Melba Gelane may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Melba Gelane touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Joe Rena Williamson and Jewel Marie Owens Williamson; her brother Joe Williamson; and her sister-in-law Margie Banks Williamson. She is survived by: her sons, Billy Wallace and Alan Wallace; her daughter-in-law Bobbie Wallace; and her daughter Tannis Price. She is also survived by three granddaughters and eight great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home (221 W 5th St, Rusk, TX 75785). A graveside service was held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 11:30 AM at the New Salem Cemetery.
