He was predeceased by: his parent Madelle Sowell of Deer Park. He is survived by: his wife Johnnie Ruth Sowell of Mineola, Texas; his children, Regina Gaye Colella (David Michael Colella) of Carrollton, Texas and Nelson Brent Smart (Mindy Andrews Smart) of Arlington, Texas; and his grandchildren, Taylor Elizabeth Smart of Lewisville and Jackson Cooper Smart of Arlington, Texas..
A celebration of life was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the First Christian Church of Mineola (209 N Pacific St, Mineola, TX 75773).
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Kindness Kottage in Mineola, Texas.
