He is survived by: his wife Rebecca Zimmerman of Decatur; his son Bret Jay "Bleu" Zimmerman (Melissa) of Southlake; his grandchildren, Braylon, Brooklyn and Roxy; his siblings, Donald Zimmerman (Sandy), Jerry Zimmerman (Barb), Bart Hise, Janet Thompson (Meryl), Sharon Patow, Cindy Mason and Lisa Wood; and his sister-in-law Sheryl Wright.
