He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Leo Rankin and Elizabeth Nell Walker Rankin; his sister Sharon Easley; his brothers-in-law, Jack Easley and Fayne Driver; and his nephew Jack Edward Easley.
He is survived by: his wife Deborah Rankin of Decatur; his children, Nicole Castaneda (Elias) of Sanger and Scott Rankin (Ashley) of Lubbock; his grandchildren, Mackenzie Reedy (William) of Denton, Isabel and Abigail Castaneda of Sanger; his sister Carolyn Driver Easley of Cotulla; his sister-in-law Regina Dickey (Wayne); his son-in-law Elias Castaneda; his grandsons, William Reedy and Gabriel Castaneda; and his nephews, Ralph Hoff, Jim Easley, Jody Easley, Angel Vasquez, Dusty Hoff, Michael Lee Marshall, Tommy Ramsey and Aaron Dickey. He is also survived by numerous nephews, great nephews, nieces, and great nieces.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 26th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel (123 W Main St, Decatur, TX 76234). A funeral service was held on Sunday, January 26th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
