It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James A. Richards of Decatur, Texas, who passed away on December 15, 2023, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruby Richards (Hixon) and Carl Richards; his adoptive parents, James Cox and Ethel Cox; and his brother Tommy Richards.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Richards of Decatur; his children, Jason Richards (Dianne) of Decatur, Jennifer Griffeth (Monty) of Aransas Pass and Jamie Cowdrey (Cary) of Decatur; his grandchildren, Collin (Marlee), Graham, Caraline, Hannah (Nick) and Parker; and his great grandchildren, Braxton, Emily, Evelyn, Eliza and Finleigh. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins; extended family members and a host of friends.
