She was predeceased by: her parents, Willard Pierce and Alice Mayfield Barnett; her brother Willard Pierce Barnett, Jr.; her grandmother Elizabeth Barnett Barlow; and her granddaughter Aynsley Sims Nelson.

She is survived by: her son Jackie Lee Sims, Jr. (JoAnn Prince Hughes); her grandson Chad Lee Sims (Jana); her great grandchildren, Grant, Cara Sims and Alyssa Nelson; and her grandson-in-law Donnie Nelson (Joanne).
