It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wesley Mathis (De Leon, Texas), born in Gorman, Texas, who passed away on September 28, 2019, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Jewel Mathis and Ruby Lee Underhill Mathis; and his nephew Michael Wayne Murphy. He is survived by: his wife Darlene Gregg; his sons, James Wesley Mathis (Terri) and Jeffrey Gregg Mathis; his grandchildren, Rickey Don Sumner, Holden Gregg Mathis, Landen Anderson Mathis and Gracyn Kaye Mathis; his sister Mary Murphy (Jack); his nephew Clint Murphy; and his great-nieces, Kelli Murphy and Ashley Murphy.
Memorial contributions may be made to De Leon First Christian Church at 201 E. Reynosa Ave., De Leon First Baptist Church at 125 South Houston Street, or to St. Jude Children's Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, in memory of Wesley.
