She was predeceased by: her parents, Hazel Huddleston Cowan and Melvin Lawrence Cowan; her brother Mel Cowan; and her grandchildren, Ashley Rutherford and Boone Rutherford.
She is survived by: her former husband Robert Gene Howell, MD (Bob); her husband R. G. Howell, MD (Bob); her grandchildren, Kristen Howell Riches (Alan) of Ruidosa, Casey Howell Yoesting (Tyler) of Richardson, Collin Howell (Katie) of Fort Worth, Cayla Howell of Fort Worth, Connor Howell of Fort Worth, Anne Rutherford Stephenson (Bryan) of San Francisco, Audrey Rutherford, MD of Dallas and Ross Rutherford of Houston; her great grandchildren, James Riches, Ellis Riches, Miller Yoesting and Beck Howell; her sister Glenda Garza; and also, John Mark Howell (Joy) of Decatur, R. Michael Howell, MD (Jana) of Fort Worth and Kay Howell Rutherford (Jay) of Aledo. She is also survived by two sons and a daughter.
