It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Opal J. Roberts of De Kalb, Texas, who passed away on June 25, 2024, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Willie Roberts and Leola Bridges Roberts; her children, Lisa Roberts and Thomas Roberts; and her brothers, Robert Lee Roberts, Vastine Roberts and Frank Roberts.

She is survived by : her children, Angelia Roberts Vaughn of De Kalb, Stephanie Roberts of Texarkana, Texas and Terence Roberts of Jacksonville, Florida; her sisters, Rosie Roberts of Kansas City and Karla Roberts of Idabel, Oklahoma; and her grandchildren, ShaToya, Trayon, Shavaca, Thomas, Jr., Anthony, Laterra, Nalisa, Raven, Aaliyah and Riley. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren plus others; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 5th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Bates Family Funeral Home (601 E Front St, De Kalb, TX 75559). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 6th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Beaver Dam Missionary Baptist Church (2515 Co Rd 3314, De Kalb, TX 75559).
