He was predeceased by: his parents, James Eddie and Mary Estella Campbell Roberts; his wife Betty Jean Gowan Roberts; and his brother Clyde Roberts. He is survived by: his children, Blenda Roberts of De Kalb, Lawana Roberts of De Kalb, Beth Williams of Tupelo, Karen Purcell of Blossom, Serena Roberts of New Boston, Texas and James Roberts of New Boston, Texas. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

“So sorry for your loss. James was one of my very favorite at Amazing Grey’s every month. I enjoyed his company. He knew my grandparents and we always talked about old times. He will be greatly missed at the monthly gatherings. One thing I can say about James is he always had a big smile on his face no matter how bad he may have felt. Love you James may you Rest In Peace.
