He was predeceased by: his parents, Guy Parson and Martha Ellen Clark Parson; his grandchildren, Michael Joe Parson III and Harley Grace Goodwin; and the mother of his children Dorothy Hall.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda Parson of De Kalb, Texas; his children, Leon Parson of Arkansas, Michael Joe Parson of Louisiana, Lesly (Bridgett Dodson), Sherry Parson of Arkansas, Teresa "Tess" (Danny Clark) and Sonja (Jerrell Goodwin); his siblings, Pauline Bruce of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Floyd Parson; and his sister-in-law Wanda Parson of Mississippi. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
