He is survived by: his wife Johnnie Runnels; his children, Frenchelle Stribling (Kendrick) of Sherman, Nicole Hughes (Johnette) of Texarkana, April Runnels of De Kalb, Texas and Thomas Hughley of De Kalb, Texas; his siblings, Charlie Giddens (Shirley) of Harris, Eddie Joe Giddens of De Kalb, Alice Jean Giddens of De Kalb, Regina Carol Woods (Roger) of Harris and Barbara Ann Johnson (James) of De Kalb, Texas; his grandchildren, Nakiayla Baker, Kendrick Stribling, Kynleigh Stribling, Ethan Hughley, Logan Hughley and Kyler Hughley; his cousins, Curtis "Fuzzy" Giddens, Diane and Ernest Dockins; and his close friend Tony Gray.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Bates Family Funeral Home (601 E Front St, De Kalb, TX 75559). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
