He was predeceased by: his parents, David Lawrence, Jr. and Ola Mae Grigg Smith; and his sons, David and Walter Roy Smith. He is survived by: his wife Gail Smith of De Kalb, Texas; his children, Jane Weaver (Gary) of Houston, Tracey Armer (Jake) of Avery and Jean Smith of Midland, Texas; his stepsons, Nic Jackson of Decatur, Case Jackson (Mystal) of Boerne and Gavin Jackson of Austin, Texas; his siblings, Carolyn Gilbert of Grover, Margaret Bain of Pittsburg, Texas and Johnn; and his sister-in-law Molly Meeks of El Paso, Texas. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, two great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
