He was predeceased by: his parents, William Wallace and Nettie Katherine Cleghorn Dunson; his son Calvin Hoyte Dunson; his grandson Dakota Cortinez; his son-in-law Ricky McClaran; and his significant other Rosie Dunson.
He is survived by: his children, Tony Dunson, Sandra Dunson, Caroline Hathoot and Juanita McClaran; and his grandchildren, Bobbie Dunson (Ronnie), Miranda McClaran (Josh), Kathie Guthrie (Emillia), Mike Jones (Janet Guthrie), Alex Guthrie (Kinsey Dunson), Savannah (Thomas Quinn) and Christopher Candelaria (Ben Hathoot). He is also survived by 15 great grandchildren; and numerous great great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Bates Family Funeral Home (601 E Front St, De Kalb, TX 75559).
