He was predeceased by: his parents, Vivian Estelle Dalby Griffis and Aylon Griffis; his parents-in-law, Mary and Jack Woodley; and his brother-in-law Robert Hill.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Jo Woodley Griffis of De Kalb, Texas; his children, Judy (Fred Brinkley), Dana (William Blackstone), Mary (Jesse Thrapp) and David; his daughter-in-law Kathy Griffis of De Kalb, Texas; his siblings, Nelda Hill of Colorado City, Texas and Dalby; his sister-in-law Dena Griffis of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; his grandchildren, Amanda Baird (Todd) of Avery, Amber Oehlke (Justin) of Hearne, Tyler Thrapp of Ogden, Cody Dickens of De Kalb, Thomas Griffis of De Kalb, Kathryn Griffis of Dallas and Bailey Freeman (Dylan) of College Station, Texas; and his great grandchildren, Reyna, Riata, Rio Baird, Weston, Colton Oehlke and Baker Freeman. He is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.
