He was predeceased by : his parents, J. R. Brazier and Nettie Pearl Moore Brazier; his former life partner Janice Brazier; his children, Benny Lee Brazier, Jr. and Gloria Ann Fowler; his brother Darrell Ray Brazier; and his uncle Luther Brazier.

He is survived by : his wife Johnnie Brazier of De Kalb, Texas; his children, James (Kim Brazier), Gene (Sharon Brazier) and Kay; and his son-in-law Billy Steelman of De Kalb, Texas. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.
