He was predeceased by: his father Lloyd "Skeet" Thornton; his son Keith Edwin Thornton; and his brother Ronnie Thornton. He is survived by: his wife Becky Thornton; his mother Frances Jordan Thornton; his children, Phillip Edwin Thornton, Penny Elaine Thornton, John Winston Cline and James Russell Cline; and his siblings, Tootie Thornton (Charlotte), Peggy Ilene Dobbs and Gina Thornton Norris. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives.
