She was predeceased by: her parents, MJ Simmons and Mary Simmons; and her brother John Simmons. She is survived by: her pet Dotty; her sister Rosemary; her sister-in-law Susan Simmons; her nephew MJ; her brothers, Adam Saffel (Aline), Nicholas Saffel (Marina) and Philip Saffel (Amanda); her nieces, Katherine and Anna; and her brother Lindsay Hanton (Shaun). She is also survived by numerous great nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She served as a nursery worker and Sunday school teacher for the 2-3 year old class for 40 years at Calvary Baptist and Grace Community Baptist Church helping give many children a foundation in Christ.
