He was predeceased by: his parents, Leland Cecil Mitchell, Sr. and Gracie Sigers Mitchell; his wife Hellen Mitchell; and his brothers, Lloyd, Floyd and Randall Mitchell.
He is survived by: his children, Doug Mitchell (Missy), Robert Mitchell, Darrel Mitchell (Liz) and Lurleen Eddleman (Lawrence); his siblings, Rodney Mitchell (Cheryl), Robert Mitchell and Darlene Hughes; his grandchildren, Meagan Croker (Daniel), Tara Hanel (William), Bradley, Gracie, Sophie Mitchell, Monica Campbell (Morgan), Matthew Mitchell (Alice), Michael Mitchell, Branden Thompson, Anna Mitchell, Lara Schweitzer (Matt) and Tabby Eddleman; his great grandchildren, Weston, Waylon Croker, Newt, Gus Hanel, Elliot, Nora Campbell, Helena Mitchell and Luke Schweitzer; and his friends, Khloe, Sabrina, Scott, Regina, Jamayne and Nena of Omnix Hospice. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 11th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Dayton - Pace-Stancil Funeral Home (1304 N Cleveland St, Dayton, TX 77535). A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 at the Magnolia Park Cemetery.
