He was predeceased by: his parents, Ben Sam Rhodes and Hettie O'Beara Rhodes; his daughter Cynthia Ann Rhodes Estep; and his siblings, Jerry Rhodes and Faylene Connell.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Lou Rhodes; his children, Sharon Fowler (Edward) and John W. Rhodes Jr. (Melanie); his brother Ben Sam Rhodes Jr. (Linda Sue); and his grandchildren, Brandi Rhodes and Jonathan Rhodes. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and a multitude of friends.
