She was predeceased by: her parents, W. W. "Bill" Oates and Ruby Phillips Oates; her brother Billy Joe Dove (Erika); and her nephew Randy Dove. She is survived by: her husband Ricky D. Short, Sr. of Dayton; her children, Ricky D. Short, Jr. (Christina) of Dayton, Stephen Short (Kim) of Dayton and Kayla Short Golden (Donny) of Elysian Fields; her grandchildren, Ty Short, Brie Short, Hudson Short, Bailey Short, Laney Golden and Leah Golden; and her sister Nancy Oates Wood (Forrest) of Fulshear. She is also survived by numerous cousins, other relatives and many friends.
