It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Deacon John Wilford Sandles Sr. (Dayton, Texas), who passed away on March 3, 2020, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parent Ira Sandles; his wife Marie Sandles; his mother Rosie Mae Robbins Smith; his siblings, Alma Faye Smith, Vern Ruth Johnson, Annie Mae Franklin, Freddie Mae Coffer, Alma Ree Yarbrough, JoAnn Ross, Alneida Goffney, Tommie Lee Smith, Edgar Smith, Terry Wayne Sandles and Willie Edward Sandles; his children, Mary Lou Johnson, Sam Henry Sandles (Josephine), John Wilford Sandles, Jr. (Paula), Theresa Ann Sandles, Tony Edward Sandles, Gloria Armstrong, Glenda Jones, Terry Wayne Sandles (Rochelle) and Jackie Christina Sandles; his niece Betty Edwards (Brian); his nephew Willie Johnson; his close friends, Samuel Jackson and Rev. Robert Seals; and also Ted Plant (Molly). He was also cherished by twenty-four grandchildren, a number of great and great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
