He is survived by: his wife Linda Gates of Dayton; his children, Dena Blanchard (Brett), Leo Gates, Jr. (Cecy), David Potts (Tammy) and Denise Ginn (David Westbrook); his sister Jeanette Shipman (Leonard); and his close friend Little Bit. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren.
