He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew "Buck" and Martha Baker Simmons; and his siblings, James Clayton Simmons, David Earl Simmons, Allen Donald Simmons and Mary Belle Brock.
He is survived by: his children, Andrew "Dane" Simmons (Charlotte) of Baytown, Troy Simmons (Lanita) of Hardin and Mary Ruth Lowery (Gary) of Freeport; his siblings, Barbara Ann Brock, Frances Jewell Willis, H. N. Simmons, Bobby Lane Simmons and Jack Dean Simmons (Joyce); and his friend David Parks. He is also survived by his eighteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
