He was predeceased by: his father George McGowen; his wife Betty McGowen (Hubert); his parent Errie McGowen (Arah); his daughter Yvette McGowen; and his siblings, William McGowen, George Charles McGowen, Dorothy Jean Porche-Johnson, Bobbie Joyce Watson and Cecile Anette McGowen.
He is survived by: his children, Lonnie McGowen, Sr. (Skye), Robert McGowen, Quanidos McGowen (Djuna), Paladin McGowen, Sr. (Darlene) and Trellis McGowen; and his grandchildren, Lonnie Jr., Stephen, Patrick, Kendrick, Shanee, Jacqueline, Jordan, Demetria and Patience.
Viewing was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Ark Church (810 Collins St, Dayton, TX 77535).
