He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe E. Cox and Stella Mae Odom Cox; his parents-in-law, Matt E. Roberts and Eva A. Reynolds Roberts; his siblings, Dean Cox, John Cox, LaVon Cox (Bucky) and Pauline Cox Tomlin; his son Ray LaDon Cox, Jr.; and his siblings-in-law, Tommy Moon, Gene Tomlin, Ione Cox and Meryl Cox.

He is survived by: his sister Polly; his wife Bobbie Rhea Roberts Cox; his daughter Donna Cox Havard; his children-in-law, Rick Havard and Barbara Taylor Cox; his grandchildren, Chris McCorvey (Jenna), Jesse Havard, Holly Havard Austin (Steve), Tyler Cox and Colton Cox; his great grandchildren, Ruth Havard, Bryden Havard, Jesse Havard, Jr., Nolan Austin and Davis Austin; his brother Billy Cox (Galena Park); and his siblings-in-law, Brenda Cox, Nancy Cox, Sandra Moon, Beth Roberts and Wayne Roberts.
