A devout Christian and doting grandmother, Esther lived her life with grace and faith. She worked as the Post Master in Danbury's Post Office for over fifty years. After retirement, Esther was an avid church goer, and even ran a Sunday school class for the older members of the First Methodist Church in Angleton, Texas.
She was predeceased by : her spouse, Alvin "Meek" Filipp, her parents, Raymond Haigh and Matilda Emma Lurker Haigh; and her siblings, Helen Bracey, Sarah Isabel Argeanas, Donald Haigh and Ruth Wood.
She is survived by : her daughters, Freda Filipp (Warren Williams), Sarah Peel (Joe), Sandra Ross (James) and Andrea Sudano (Bruce); her brother Russell Haigh; and her grandchildren, Leah Cogswell, Jamie Shannon, Joshua Ross, David Ross, Robert Peel, Daniel Ross, Shelby Sudano and Matt Sudano.
