He is survived by: his wife Margie Elster Borchardt; his children, Jeffrey Otto Borchardt (Mireya) of Bay City and Audrey Kay Borchardt Lopez (Larry) of Rosenberg; his grandchildren, Tyson Lopez, Farren Lopez, Bianca Borchardt and Sophie Borchardt; and his brother John Borchardt of Burnet.
