He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Steelman and Jewel Steelman; his brothers, Darwin L Steelman and Elwyn C Steelman; his nephew Michael Steelman; and his nieces, Rhonda Stephens and Brenda Ramsey.

He is survived by: his wife Betty Steelman (Johnson); his son Joel Steelman; his daughter-in-law Julie Steelman (Martin); his granddaughter Katherine Steelman; his siblings, Barbara E Hudson and Jerry D Steelman (Judy); his sister-in-law Kathryn Taylor; and his nieces and nephews, Patricia Thurm, Carol Charen, Debra Sullivan, Sonya Cline, Theresa Suddeth, Dean Steelman and Kyle Steelman.

Visitation was held on Monday, December 2nd 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Crawford A. Crim Funeral Home (1414 S Main St, Henderson, TX 75654). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 2nd 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
