He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Beacom Speer and Cora Speer (Garner). He is survived by: his wife Shirley L. Speer; his daughters, Susan L. Bardreau (Bret Hennington) and Sondra L. Speer (Eric Myers); his grandchildren, Brittany Luttrell and Blake Ricci (Caitlin); and his great grandchildren, Brooklyn Luttrell, Aiden Luttrell, Beckham Ricci, Levi Ricci and Reagan Ricci. He is also survived by his family, friends.

A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Memorial Park (13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75081). A reception was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the Restland Event Center (9220 Restland Rd, Dallas, TX 75243).
