She was predeceased by: her parents, Virgie Alice Hawkins and Joseph Woodfin Mayo; her former husband Benjamin F. Armstrong, Sr.; and her spouse Claude Raymond Burton. She is survived by: her children, Benjamin F. Armstrong, Jr. (Carol) of Garland and Sonia Armstrong Brown (Jim) of Dallas; and her grandchildren, Benjamin F. Armstrong III (Trina) and Amy Armstrong Peck. She is also survived by four great grandsons and two great granddaughters.
In lieu of flowers, the Family asks that contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
