He was predeceased by: his parents, James Sr. Matheson and Dorothy Matheson (Bartin); his siblings, Patsy Odom, Janie Davis, Midge Gervers, Sissy (Tony Fisher) and Randy; his sister-in-law Tracy Matheson; and his former wife Linda Matheson.
He is survived by: his wife Cobie Matheson; his siblings, James Matheson Jr. (Cindy) of Canton, Texas and Glenda (Lee Maddison) of Dallas, Texas; his children, John Matheson (Joei) of Eustace, Texas, Teresa Matheson (Connor) of Murchison, Texas, Daniel Dennis and Jesse Dennis; his grandsons, Zackery Sellars (Melissa) of Tyler, Texas and Ethan Matheson of Murchison, Texas; and his great grandchild Liam Sellars (Justice Bolin). He is also survived by numerous other nieces, nephews, family, friends.
