She was predeceased by: her parents, Geneva Sterling-Herod and Charlie Wesley Herod; and her husband Nathaniel Hawkins. She is survived by: her daughters, Kathy G. A. Hawkins-Ford of Natacha, F. L, Hawkins-Drayden, Daphne E. Hawkins-Wilson and Jennifer L. Hawkins; her sons-in-law, Perry Ford, Dexter Drayden Sr. and Henry Wilson Jr.; her grandchildren, Nathaniel Hawkins, Dexter Drayden Jr., Decha Drayden-Brooks, Natalie Drayden, Ashley Wilson, Henry Wilson III, Anthony Hawkins, Johnathan Hawkins and Joshua Hawkins; her goddaughter Charmae Robertson; and her sister Ethel Smith. She is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren.
