He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Charlie Gray and Effie Gray; and his son Vann Dismuke. He is survived by: his children, LaTashau Thomas of Houston, Nyishau Harris (Jason) of Houston, Twana Wright of Houston, Charmetha Harris of Houston, Elexia of Houston, Roderick II of Houston, Broderick and Joann; his close friend Jackie Brackens of Dallas, Texas; and his siblings, Charles (Stephanie), Ronald (Angela), Darlene Moore (Richard) of Dallas and Cheryl Washington (Alvin) of Dallas. He is also survived by twenty-eight grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren.
