He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert F. Ashford Sr. and Minnie Veach Ashford; his wife Lou Nell Carroll Ashford; and his children, Robbie Ashford Chalk and Royce Alan Ashford.
He is survived by: his son Richard M. Ashford; and his son-in-law Jimmy L. Chalk. He is also survived by four grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two great great grand daughter, and a host of nieces and nephews.
