He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Claude F., Leola Morris, Clarence W. and Ella Grace Sanders; his parents, Richard Whitney Sanders and Dorothy Morris Miller; and his brother John Miller.

He is survived by: his children, Michael Rand Sanders (Lacreacia) and Rachael Marie Hawkins (Joshua); his grandchildren, Michael Rand Sanders Jr., Andrew Ray Sanders, Grace Marie Hawkins and Jacob Alan Hawkins; his great grandchild Zion Ray (Michael); his sisters, Jill Molden and Donna Howard; and his cousins, Bill Sanders, Casey Sanders and Diana Stevens. He is also survived by many other extended family and friends.
