He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Ralph Marshall and Dorothy E. Marshall; and his sisters, Carol Ruth Jett and Katheryn Sue Marshall. He is survived by: his wife Joy Kovar Sharp; his brothers, Jeffrey Lynn Marshall and Gilbert Scott Marshall; and his children, Karen Kim Oliver, Tracy Lynn Severtson, James Jay Marshall and Terry Loraine Henley.
