Though Phil may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ben C. Matthews and Beatrice Elms Matthews; his wife Betty R. Matthews; his brother George "Bo" Matthews; and his children, Becky Sigal and William Matthews.
He is survived by: his children, Ben Matthews (Donna) of Mt. Vernon, WA and Kay Dailey (Jack) of Virginia Beach, VA; his daughter-in-law Diane Matthews of Fordyce; his stepsons, Mike McFarland (Donna) of Russellville, James Allen (Teresa) of Camden and Larry Allen (Jeri) of Benton; and his sister Ellen Botsford (Larry). He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Tulip Cemetery.
