He was predeceased by: his parents, Adolph Valenta and Alouise Valenta (Carrie Valenta); his son Terry Valenta; his son-in-law Mike Nettles; and his siblings, Lillian Sykowski, Agnes Hrncir and Adolph Valenta.

He is survived by: his wife Betty; his siblings, Louise Havelka, Theresa Pesek, Mary Jo Matysek and John Valenta (Mary Ann); his children, Tim Valenta (Sara), Karen Nettles, Thomas Valenta (Wendy) and Todd Valenta; his grandchildren, Trevor Bennett, Ryan Bennett, Lainey Valenta, Collin Valenta, Sean Valenta, Coral Valenta and Becker Valenta; his stepchildren, Amy Papageorge (George), Leslie Janecka, Stephen Janecka and Jennifer Kemp (Claude); his stepgrandchildren, Matthew Hardwick, Sarah Alexander, Liz Chamberlain, Janikah Kemp and Marley Kemp; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Cayden, Ava, Ethan Hardwick and Collin Chamberlain. He is also survived by many cousins, friends, and nieces and nephews.
