He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Knox and Essline Savoy Knox; his wife Jo Ann Alfred Knox; his sisters, Ella Mae Hawkins and Katherine Richardson; his brothers-in-law, John Edward Hawkins, Sr. and Leroy Savoie; his nephew John Edward Hawkins, Jr.; and the mother of his children Jo Ann Alfred Knox.
He is survived by: his children, Paul D. Knox, Jr. and Essline Knox; his daughter-in-law Brenda Knox; his grandson Paul Knox, III; and his family, Samuel Juneau, Sr., Landry "Sonny" Wilkerson, Pam Rocquemore, Kathy Ofori and Shellian Graham. He is also survived by five close friends.
