She was predeceased by: her parents, Bessie Burford Riddle and H. L. Riddle; her husband Roy Bryant Shilling, Jr.; her sister-in-law Beth Van Cleave (Horace "Buddy"); her siblings, Herschel Riddle (Ann) and Kathryn Riddle Beard (James); and her nephews, Jerry and Terry Riddle.

She is survived by: her children, Nancy Shilling and Roy B. Shilling III (Laurie); her sister Sue Gibbs (John Gibbs); and her nieces and nephews, Diana Van Cleave Buroughs, Jan Beard Evans, Judy Beard Foreman, John David Gibbs, Jimmy Gibbs, Scott Van Cleave and James Beard Jr..
