He was predeceased by: his father Percy Oham; and his siblings, Dewayne and Delores. He is survived by: his mother Hestoria Oham; his children, Maya Cobbs (Jabbar), Nina, Kean and Aden; his grandchildren, Jabbar Jr. (Tre) and Naomi; his wife Maris (Maria); and his siblings, Brenda (Easley) and Tony. He is also survived by in-laws, uncles, aunties, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
