He was predeceased by: his parent Dallas. He is survived by: his siblings, Cheryl and Jeff; his wife Sherri; his son Alan James Randall; and also Annette. He is also survived by three nephews, and numerous cousins.
Kelly's two periods of working at DMA were interrupted by a stressful stint as a Walmart greeter (during a pandemic! after recovering from a serious car crash), and he was genuinely saddened to leave the Museum in February 2024 due to his declining health.
