With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Kaola Smith of Dallas, Texas, born in Hallsville, Texas, who passed away on October 18, 2023 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She is survived by: her husband Richard T. Smith, Sr.; her children, Richard T. Smith, Jr. of Grand Prairie, TX, Leonard W. Smith (late Velma LaJoy) of DeSoto, TX, Herschel L. Smith (Brenda) of DeSoto, TX, Charlesetta M. Session (Royal) of Dallas, TX and Paula R. Jackson (Neotis) of Carrollton, TX; her sisters, Mamie L. Jackson of Ft. Worth, TX, Jeanette Andrews, Alice F. Phillips and Carrie Richmond (Charles) of Dallas, TX; her aunt Earnestine Haynes of Houston, TX; and her sisters-in-law, Odessa Johnson, Clarice Anderson of Dallas, TX, Carrie Carter of Houston, TX and Frances "Bay" Singleton of Marshall, TX. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, and twenty-three great-great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.

“Wow! This really hurts. I am thankful for being able to count myself a friend of Mrs. Kaola. I loved her as family and will miss her deeply. Family, please know that you are ALL in my prayers and I appreciate you always accepting my calls and visits since I left Nash-Davis, those Seniors On the Move were my FAVORITE group of folks, and it does not seem like over fifteen years have passed since then. If you need or want ANYTHING, please let me know. I love you ALL ~ Alway Ms. Diane”
