He was predeceased by: his parents, Pedro Arenas and Melquides Arenas; and his brothers, Aurelio and Ignacio Arenas. He is survived by: his former wife Ana M Alvarez; his children, Joe L. Arenas, Luz M. Godinez, William Arenas, Simon Arenas, Daniel Arenas, Angelica M. Loredo, Richard Arenas, Jesse Arenas, Rosanne Elizardo and David A. Arenas; his siblings, Tomas Arenas, Daniel Arenas, Vita Salazar, Antonio Arenas and San Juana Arenas; his daughter Esmeralda Arenas; and his stepson Juan Carlos Perez. He is also survived by twenty-five grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; along with one great-great grandchild.
